Dossier: Frank O'Hara
Each issue of Court Green features a dossier on a special topic or theme. For our eighth issue, we are seeking creative responses to the work, life, and legacy of Frank O'Hara. It has been over forty years since O'Hara's accident, and sudden death, on Fire Island. In the decades since, his influence has proven to be indelible. For this dossier, we would like to see fresh takes on and responses to O'Hara's life and work, however subtle or overt, in poetry and short lyric essays or prose. We imagine walk poems, "I do this, I do that" poems, celebrity elegies, fortune cookies, personal poems, odes and meditations, and a myriad of other homages. All styles are welcome. We are not looking for critical/academic works at this time.
Submissions for dossier and regular sections of the magazine are welcome. If you would like to submit poems for either or both sections, our submission period is March 1-June 30 of each year. We do not accept more than one submission per poet during our submission/reading period. Please note that we do not accept more than five pages of poetry. We will respond by August 31. Submit to:
