The Professional Writing program offers courses ranging from technical writing to creative nonfiction. Students may take these courses as electives or as part of a minor. Both the Professional Writing minor and the Creative Nonfiction minor (offered jointly with the Fiction Writing Department) provide a broad and interdisciplinary approach to teaching students writing skills which are marketable across a wide range of professions and occupations. Professional Writing program students also publish the South Loop Review, a journal of creative nonfiction.
Questions about the Professional Writing program or courses are welcome and should be addressed to Garnett Kilberg-Cohen.
