South Loop Review is a literary journal of Creative Nonfiction and Photography. We publish essays and memoir in lyric and experimental forms. We give greater emphasis to non-linear narratives and blended genres. We welcome montaged and illustrated essays, as well as narrrative photography.

South Loop Review is published annually by the Creative Nonfiction Program within Columbia College Chicago's English Department. The premiere issue was published in 1987 and contained some of the best student-generated work from courses such as Composition, Creative Nonfiction, Literature and Professional Writing. Beginning with Volume 7 (2003), South Loop Review began to publish Creative Nonfiction exclusively,

South Loop Review is edited by Renee Hansen, along with a panel of editors which includes faculty and students, allowing students an opportunity to get hands-on publishing experience. If you are interested in learning more about South Loop Review, please contact us.
