The Speech Program
Welcome to the exciting world of public speaking!
Whether learning to talk in front of an audience with confidence or creating a comfortable relationship through eye contact, students may find that communicating orally in small groups or large audiences can be as exciting as it is nerve-wracking. The English Department of Columbia College Chicago courses in Basic Public Speaking (beginning level) and Public Speaking (intermediate level) fulfill the LAS Core graduation requirement in oral communication. Courses are taught by experienced instructors working in the field who are themselves as richly diverse in their backgrounds as are Columbia students.
